If there was a core reason for the break up, you need to address that. For instance, when Scott and Rachel first started going out, he took her to plays and concerts because she really enjoyed the arts. As this relationship developed they started going to more sporting events because this is what Scott wanted to do. In fact, after Rachel called the relationship off, Scott realized that they hadn’t done an arts event in nearly four months.

Scott realized that in order to get his ex girlfriend back, he would have to work at making the relationship fun again and show her a good time once more.

Scott had it mind not to immediately say he understood things and to call her a thousand times to say he had changed.
